About The Poetic Kitchen

The Food We Live In.

It’s no secret, we all love food, don't we? It can sometimes be hard to deviate from our usual food habits and comforts of which we are used to?

So trying to explore the environment of our fruits and vegetables and get an understanding of why we eat what we eat, the impact certain foods can have on our bodies, and how quick and easy it is to teach our young children at an early stage in life, that exploring new things, is an exciting challenge.

I want to help children to try new foods and enjoy activities with words and poetry.

Having spent almost twenty-five years working as a Chef Manager within the Private school sector, my experience with food has been a continuous learning curb. As well as this experience, I have worked as a Musician, (drummer) songwriter, dabbled with stand-up comedy and poetry, and I have also worked within a music Rehearsal studio for many years. So now, I will put some of these skills into practice, by encouraging (working with) young children to enjoy foods from around the globe. I want young children to have fun learning about fruits and vegetables, writing about their likes and dislikes when it comes to food, with some light-hearted humour and poetry. I hope we can enhance their experience and open them up to a wide range of different foods which they may not yet have experienced?

Encouraging our young to participate and try new foods and learn about other fruits and vegetables of which will allow for a healthy nourishing outlook on their eating habits and leading to the well-being of each individual child.

Who knows, there could be a story, a song, a poem, on the tip of, their tongue?

It's Not Just Apples And Pears, You Know.

The poetic kitchen explores fruits and vegetables from around the world, with a little fun, humour, and poetry.

We want to challenge our everyday eating habits and give young children the benefits of trying new foods in a fun and happy environment and allowing them to express themselves through words and poetry. We want children to enjoy food and have new experiences and encourage their creativity by writing about them, with poetry. More importantly, I want each child's individual experience with different foods, to challenge their taste buds.
